The Love Inn is an independent, grassroots electronic music venue in the heart of Bristol’s cultural centre that combines quality curation, sound and hospitality.  

Collaborations with local promoters and programming that platforms emerging talent from the City alongside international names (that often belie the intimate size of the venue) are a key part of our identity.

About the Role 

We are looking for new members of bar staff to join our team.  We are looking for friendly and proactive people with excellent communication skills who will help to ensure that our customers have a really good time whilst they are at the venue.

 

General bar experience or relevant transferable skills are a must. The bar can get busy for service at times, so being able to deal with that whilst remaining composed is key. 

 

Being prepared to work weekends is crucial.  As we are a late-night venue, you must also be comfortable with working hours that mainly fall between 6pm and 5am.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Pouring drinks for service

  • Glass collecting, washing and polishing

  • Supporting with set up and close down of the bar and venue

  • Changing draught barrels and general cellar maintenance

  • Cleaning, emptying bins, litter-picking and following recycling guidelines

  • Greeting customers

  • Adhering to The Love Inn Health and Safety policies 

  • Adhere to Love Inn staff, venue and licensing processes and policies

  • Undertake other duties, which may arise or as may be delegated from time to time, commensurate with the skills required for this post.

Skills & Experience 

Essential:

  • Confident, friendly and positive communicator 

  • Able to follow set processes and procedures with good attention to detail 

  • Works well in a team environment

  • Works well in a busy environment

  • Flexible thinking and the ability to respond to changes as they arise 

  • Experience of working in similar level role at a bar, nightclub or other hospitality venue (or able to demonstrate transferable skills)

 

Desirable: 

  • Mixologist Experience

  • Personal License Holder

  • First Aid Trained

Physical Description of Work: Bar work is often physically demanding, requiring activity and movement throughout a shift like stooping, reaching and twisting. The ability to interact with customers and colleagues is required, as is manual dexterity for preparing drinks and handling cash. The environment is often noisy and crowded.  Stamina and endurance are required.
