Job Title/Role: Comms Assistant - Community Partnerships & Impact 


Place of work: Team Love Office, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9PG, with on site work during Love Saves the Day at Ashton Court, BS41 9JN, and FORWARDS Festival at The Downs, Bristol, BS9 1FG, and Waterworks Festival at Gunnersbury Park, London, W3 8LQ. 


Hours: 15 hours per week (equivalent to 2 days per week), with additional days required for work on site during show weeks. 


On Site Dates (2026): 21 - 24 May at Love Saves the Day, and 27 - 30 August at FORWARDS, 10 - 13 September at Waterworks 


Rate of Pay: Real Living Wage - £13.45 per hour in Bristol, £14.80 per hour in London


Start Date: Mid April 
Preferred working days: Wednesday & Thursday 


Employment Type: Freelance (see ‘Role Specific Information’ for more detail on this employment type) 


Employment Term: Mid April - end of September

Social responsibility and sustainability is central to our work, we aim to produce events which contribute to wider change in the local community and beyond, and run a number of additional dedicated projects and initiatives centring around social and environmental impact and change.

Key Responsibilities 
We’re looking for a proactive and creative Communications Assistant to support storytelling and content creation about Team Love’s sustainability initiatives, community partnerships and projects, with a focus on amplifying positive social and environmental impact. 


Office 
- Create regular content for our social media channels (Team Love, FORWARDS, Love Saves the Day, Team Canteen, Waterworks). 
- Content & comms will be focused on festival sustainability initiatives, and community partner work on topics like food justice, equity & inclusion, restoring nature and taking climate action. 
- Create briefs for video content to capture out of the office or on site. - Help to develop comms plans for initiatives and projects, including content ideas and key messages that are targeted to our festival audiences. 
- Review existing communications and suggest improvements. 
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the outcome of the content. - Explore new ways to engage our audiences in our impact work. 
- You will work collaboratively across departments, with the Sustainability Coordinator, Marketing Manager and Social Media Coordinator. 


Onsite 
- Create content about sustainability initiatives and community partners on site. - Conduct social media interviews. 
- Edit & upload content. 
- Work collaboratively with Team Love’s sustainability team, the marketing and media teams, and community partners at the event.

Skills and Experience: 
Essential 
- Experience of creating social media content including video. 
- Able to create engaging and diverse content. 
- Copy writing 
- Has an understanding of social media trends. 
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of event industry sustainability challenges and opportunities. 
- Confident, friendly and positive communicator. 
- Previous experience of working in a team and independently. 
- Proactive and adaptive approach to work. 
- Able to work under pressure. 


Desirable 
- Previous experience of evaluating content and communications, using data like engagement, likes and view time. 
- Organised with good attention to detail. 
- Practical interest in sustainability, this could be through activities you do at home, work, education or online. 


Role Specific Information: 
Travel to and from Site - Transport and logistics will be discussed prior to the commencement of the placement and planning support will be provided if required. 


Onsite Accommodation - n/a due to City Centre location - you will not be required to stay on site overnight.


Meals Onsite - Meals provided on site whilst on shift 


Physical Description of the Role - This role is a mixture of office based, and on site work at our events, with desk work, and some physically active work, involving some moving and lifting, required in both settings. A number of our events take place on greenfield sites and the role requires someone to move around independently and extensively. 


Employment Type Info - This role is offered on a Freelance / Self Employed basis so you will need to invoice for payment and be responsible for your own tax and national insurance payments to HMRC.

We work on a day rate basis whilst on site. There is a rota for guidance, and we aim for shifts of between 8 and 10 hours, however, due to the nature of live events, this is always subject to change and there may be occasions when crew need to stay on a bit longer to get a job done or on the other hand, get to leave a bit earlier if everything is finished for the day, please get in touch if you would like to talk to us about this ahead of making an application.
