Organisation: Team Love (with placement being delivered in partnership with Team Canteen)
Job Title/Role: On Site Catering Assistant
Place of work: On site at Team Love events during May, August and September (Bristol and London)
Hours: Approx. 8-10 hour days between hours of 8am-8pm, please note that shifts may be longer on live show days (see Other Information section for more details). Drafted rota will be discussed with the successful candidate at least 4 weeks prior to start date.

Bristol:
19th - 26th May (7 working days and 1 day off in this period)
18th - 25th Aug (7 working days and 1 day off in this period)
London:
12th - 15th September (4 working days)
(Plus potential extra onsite work offered for w/c 23rd June 2025 - these dates are yet to be confirmed and this extra work will be subject to the successful candidate’s availability.)
Optional additional dates:
Team Canteen may need assistance in busy periods to pack recipe kits for local community food clubs. Dates are yet to be confirmed and this extra work will be subject to the successful candidate’s availability.
Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour

About the Role
Team Love is recruiting, an exciting opportunity to join our Crew Catering team primarily working on site at 3 of our live events. Reporting to the Catering Manager the role is Assistant level, and while training will be provided, it requires transferable experience and some essential skills to be held from the start. Whilst on site, the Catering Team work in fully equipped kitchen and dining areas that are set up in temporary tented structures.
Outside of the live events work, Team Canteen runs an ongoing project to provide 2 local food clubs in Bristol with a number of pre-prepared ‘Recipe kits’. Each month Team Canteen provides a recipe sheet, with the required ingredients prepared & weighed out, these are then packed into bags to make up the kits. An extra job responsibility may include helping to prepare these.
Key Responsibilities
Team Love are looking for someone to join our On Site Crew Catering team at our live events in Bristol and London.
Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with setting up the crew catering tent ready for service, EG unloading stock from the van, setting up chairs, tables and other equipment

Assisting with meal preparation and cooking
-
Serving the crew and artist meals
-
Kitchen porter duties such as washing up
-
Front of house duties such as clearing tables and keeping surfaces and communal areas clean

Taking payments and stocking up snacks in the Tuck shop
Other responsibilities of the job may include:

Serving customers hot drinks and cakes from the public facing Team Canteen festival stall.
Assisting Team Canteen with their ‘Recipe kit’ project:

Weighing out and preparing ingredients

Packing all items from the recipe into the kits methodically

Role Specific Information:
Travel to and from Site - Transport and logistics will be discussed prior to the commencement of the placement and planning support will be provided if required. The Bristol sites are accessible by public transport and on event days, we run a free crew bus service.
A travel allowance will be provided to cover the costs of getting to and from the London site.
Accommodation - n/a for Bristol shows - you will not be required to stay on site overnight. For the London show you will be given the option of a shared room in accommodation close to the event site or to camp in a tent on site in the crew area with access to backstage toilets and showers. Camping Kit can be loaned for use if required.
Meals Onsite - catering provided when on site and on shift at events.
Physical Description of Role - This role is predominantly kitchen & hospitality based taking place at greenfield sites. The role will require walking around the festival site plus basic food prep / kitchen work and some light manual activity such as lifting, bending and carrying.
Employment Type Info - This role is offered on a Freelance / Self Employed basis so you will need to invoice for payment and be responsible for your own tax and national insurance payments to HMRC.

We work on a day rate basis whilst on site. There is a rota for guidance, and we aim for shifts of between 8 and 10 hours, however this may be longer on live event days and due to the nature of live events, this is always subject to change. There may be occasions when crew need to stay on a bit longer to get a job done or on the other hand, get to leave a bit earlier if everything is finished for the day, please get in touch if you would like to talk to us about this ahead of making an application.
