Artist Rider Assistant 

Multi-stop Placement for Love Saves The Day and FORWARDS Festival

Role: Artist Rider Assistant - Multi-Stop Placement 

Contract Type: Freelance 

Rate of pay: £12.00 per hour – 8 hours for site day rates

Hours: On site hours are TBC but will most likely be 8 hours and will be agreed between you and the Artist Rider Manager in advance of your first shift. 

*Please note that due to the nature of live events, timings may be subject to change. 

 

LOVE SAVES THE DAY

Employment Term: 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for Love Saves The Day Festival. 

24th, 25th and 26th May 2024. 

 

Place of Work: Love Saves The Day festival site, Ashton Court. 

 

Interview Dates: Either Monday 6th May (in the afternoon between 2-5pm) or Tuesday 7th May (in the morning between 9-12) 

Site Tour and Induction: Thursday 23rd May 2024 - time TBC. 

Start Date: Friday 24th May 2024

Total number of Days for Love Saves The Day is 3 + Induction 

EVENTS ON THE DOWNS SITE (including FORWARDS)

Employment Term: 2 days being Saturday 24th + Sunday 25th August 2024 AND 3 days being Friday 30th, Saturday 31st of August, Sunday 1st September

 

Place of Work: The Downs, Bristol

 

Site Tour and Induction: Friday 23rd August 2024 - time TBC

Start Date: Saturday 24th August 2024

Total number of days for events on The Downs site is 5 working days + induction tour.

About The Role

Big Team are offering a really exciting opportunity to join our crew and work with us at Love Saves The Day Festival and FORWARDS Festival, as a multi-stop placement in 2024. 

You will be part of the Artist Rider team, helping to organise and sort artist rider on-site, and helping to distribute it across site.

This covers items such as drinks, snacks and specific meals that have been requested by performers.

Core Responsibilities will include: 

  •  Organising the artist riders alongside the artist rider team (this will include lifting and moving sometimes heavy items)

  • Recording information accurately in spreadsheets / Google Docs 

  • Other duties assisting the Artist Rider Team as necessary 

Skills Required: 

  • Good organisational skills 

  • Able to communicate constructively 

  • Flexible and happy to assist with various tasks and duties to support the Artist Rider Team

  • Able to be physically active for extended periods in a fast paced environment. 

  • Experience working on Google Suite platforms (excel and google doc) 

 

Personal Characteristics: 

  • Sociable and outgoing personality 

  • Able to work under pressure 

  • Able to work as part of a team 

  • Keen to learn

Role Specific Information: 

The role will be based in or just outside of a portacabin onsite, or at one of the stages at Love Saves The Day and FORWARDS Festival, which take place at Ashton Court and The Downs Bristol. The role will require independent movement around the site. There are some pathways and trackway, but the site is predominantly grassy and uneven. There will be extensive lifting and moving required. 

You will have full access to the festival after your shift time finishes, plus 1 weekend guest ticket. Catering will be provided while on shift for all shows.

You will be required to complete a short online Manual Handling Training module. 

The successful applicant will need to visit the site for an induction session, prior to their start date and will receive a full safety briefing on site. The role will be reporting into and supported by the Artist Rider Manager. 

Other Information: 

On show days (Saturday 25th May & Sunday 26th May) there will be festival organised buses running from Bristol city centre, to the festival site. This service will be free for crew, more details will be provided closer to the event. 

You may be required to assist with other duties across site if the need arises. 

You may be required to complete a short online Manual Handling Training module. 

A nondisclosure agreement must be signed to carry out this role.

Health and safety is paramount to your role, during your work you will be required to adhere to all related policies.

PPE may be needed, and this can be provided.

Onsite at events, there is a rota for guidance, and we aim for shifts of between 8 and 10 hours, however, due to the nature of live events, this is always subject to change and there may be occasions when crew need to stay on a bit longer to get a job done or on the other hand, get to leave a bit earlier if everything is finished for the day.
