About the Role 

The Onsite Music Office Support role is solely based onsite (days to be confirmed). The role’s purpose is to support the smooth day-to-day running of the onsite office by keeping things ticking over, helping with things such as ensuring the office is kept tidy, supplies never run low, and helping with light touch administration where needed.

Key Responsibilites

The Onsite Music Office Support role will keep things running smoothly so the office is always clean, calm, and tidy.

The role includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities: 

  • Keeping the office clean and tidy

  • Assisting the office manager with key administrative tasks as required

  • Making sure supplies are topped up (stationery, milk, tea etc)

  • Helping to triage and answer artists' queries

  • Assisting with light touch administration

  • Checking in with our other teams (Artist Welcome and Artist Accreditation) to make sure everyone is on track

  • Manage printing and distribution of resources for the department as required

  • Ensure staff briefing packs are printed and ready for their arrival

  • Helping with staff ticket/meal changes if needed


 

Personal Characteristics

We believe that skills and potential matter more than rigid qualifications. While we appreciate relevant experience we urge candidates to apply if they possess the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail and administration skills (familiar with using Google Suite and Microsoft Office would be a great start!)

  • Able to communicate effectively in different ways with a wide range of people, showing interest and carefully listening to their needs. This will include artists, booking agents, programmers, external contractors and internal staff

  • Have a calm, friendly and dynamic approach to all situations 

  • The ability to see how the Music operation fits within and impacts all other operations and departments across the festival

  • Self-motivator who works well in a team 

  • The ability to plan ahead and adapt to changes throughout 

 

Skills & Experience

Essential 

  • Experience of using computers, in particular spreadsheets & Google Suite.

  • Confident, friendly and positive communicator - in-person, on the phone, emails and via messaging services 

  • Organised & able to plan effectively.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Works well in a team environment.

  • Flexible thinking and the ability to respond to changes as they arise

Desirable (not essential) 

  • Event experience in a similar on-site role

  • Experience working with multiple contractors and staff 

  • Previous experience of using OurCrew software 

 

Role Specific Information

Travel to and from Site - Boomtown will cover travel expenses to and from site. Options to be discussed with the successful candidate. 

 

Onsite Accommodation - You will need to provide your own accommodation. This can either be a tent or live-in vehicle. You are welcome to stay in the music office campsite in the artist field or in the main crew campsite.

 

Meals Onsite - 3 meals per day will be provided on-site whilst working. This will be in crew catering. All dietary requirements catered for.

Physical Description of Work - this role is an onsite office-based at our festival, with desk work and some physically active work such as bending, lifting, moving around the office and to other areas of site. The festival takes place on a large, greenfield site so the role requires the ability to move around independently and extensively.
