Placement at Love Saves The Day with Big Team

Role: Sustainability Assistant  Love Saves The Day

Contract Type: Freelance 

Employment Term: 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for Love Saves The Day Festival. 

24th, 25th and 26th May 2024. 

 

PLEASE NOTE

You will need to come to the Team Love office in Bristol (BS2) for a pre-show for a briefing with the Sustainability Manager. This means you will be ready to hit the ground running as soon as you get to site. 

 

Rate of pay: £12.00 per hour – 8 hours for site day rates. 

Place of Work: Love Saves The Day festival site (plus intro session at the Team Love office) 

Hours: On site hours are TBC and will be agreed between you and the Sustainability Manager ahead of your first shift. 

*Please note that due to the nature of live events, timings may be subject to change. 

 

On Site Dates:

Friday 24th May – Sunday 26th May: Love Saves the Day; Ashton Court, Bristol. (3 days working)

 

Interview Dates: Either 6th May (in the afternoon between 2-5pm) or the 7th May (in the morning between 9-12) 

Site Tour: 23rd May 2024 - time is TBC 

Start Date: Friday 24th May 2024

Total number of Days is 3 + Induction + Site Tour 

 

About Big Team CIC

Big Team actively works to diversify the people who create, contribute and attend festivals.

We support 18-30 year olds from groups that are currently under-represented to forge their paths in the industry and we work with industry partners to develop more inclusive festival environments.

About the Role: 

Big Team are offering a really exciting opportunity to join our crew and work with us at Love Saves The Day Festival 2024. With this placement, you will be assisting the Sustainability Team the day before and on the days of the live event. 

You will be working with other teams across site to help keep sustainability at the forefront of their activities and onsite initiatives. 

We are looking for someone who has an eye for detail and is comfortable with collating and processing information as you will also be dealing with surveys and data collection for post event reporting. 

Core Responsibilities Will Include

  • Communicate & check sustainable practices with different groups who are working at the festival site 

  • Gather essential data to help us understand our environmental impact 

  • Provide general support for the Sustainability Manager & Team during live days 

Skills Required

  • Ability to record information accurately using a pen + paper and by using Ipads. 

  • Able to communicate with new people and build positive working relationships

  • Able to communicate constructively

Role Specific Information

This role is physically active, involving some moving and lifting, and moving around the site independently and extensively. There are some pathways and trackway, but the site is predominantly grassy and uneven. 

Catering will be provided while on shift. 

You may be required to complete a short online Manual Handling Training module. 

The successful applicant will need to visit the site for an induction session, prior to their start date and will receive a full safety briefing on site.

The role will be reporting into and supported by the Sustainability Manager.

Other Information: 

On show days (Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th May) there will be festival organised buses running from Bristol city centre, to the festival site . This service will be free for crew. More details will be provided closer to the event. 

You will be required to sign a non disclosure agreement in order to carry out this role and you may be required to assist with other duties across site if the need arises. 

Health and safety is paramount to your role, during your work you will be required to adhere to all related policies. 

You may need to wear PPE, but we can provide this if you don’t already have your own.
